Grilled Pork Chops and Pineapples with Apple Chutney

Hello everyone! Today I want to share with you an extremely easy and yummy recipe!  If you’re not into pork chops, you can try this with turkey or chicken chops (yes they make chicken chops…lol).  In lieu of the lovely summer season,  today we are gonna get out the good ole’ charcoal grill.  Preparation is key when you are going to grill food.  Everything should be ready and set  up to be put on the grill prior to getting your grill ready.Make sure you have all your tools and a separate dish to put the cooked food on when its done.

Heres what you need:

  • 1 cup of Italian Salad Dressing
  • 1 Tbs of Jerk Sauce ( I used Grace’s Hot Jerk Sauce in the jar)
  • 4-6 Pork Chops (bone in)
  • 1 freezer bag
  • 1 can of pineapple slices

Oh yeah and of course, don’t forget you need a grill!

Whisk the Jerk sauce and Italian salad dressing together in a bowl.  Pour the sauce into the freezer bag and then add the chops. Seal the bag and move the bag around to make sure the chops are covered completely. Put the chops in the refrigerator and let them marinate for at least an hour, the longer the better. Marinating them overnight would be fantastic!

Now get that grill fired up and ready to go. In my case Jimmy does this because I am a klutz so, I don’t think its a good idea for me to mess around with fire! lol

Now put your chops on the grill for about 8 minutes each side.  Please, I cannot stress to you enough how important it is to make sure they are cooked completely.  You certainly don’t want anyone to get sick because you didn’t cook your food thoroughly.

Once your chops are cooked, put the pineapple slices on the grill about 3 minutes each side or until you get nice grill marks.

Pile the chops and pineapples all on a serving dish, this is a great way to present your dish to guests.

Now you can put those in the oven just to keep them warm, on the lowest heat setting you have on your oven.

Heres what you need for the Apple Chutney:

  • 1 green apple
  • 1/4 of an onion (chopped)
  • 1 garlic clove (minced)
  • a pinch of salt
  • a pinch of pepper
  • 1 tbs of brown sugar
  • 1-2 tbs of olive oil

Combine all the ingredients except for the olive oil in a bowl. Warm up your skillet and coat it with the olive oil.

Add the apple mixture to the pan stir it and cook it covered under medium heat for 3-5 minutes or until apples are soft and the onions are clear.

Now, serve your chops with the grilled pineapples and apple chutney on top.

Voila! Enjoy! Bon A petit!
