On Sunday me and Jimmy had our usual Sunday dinner. This weekend I made ribs per Jimmy’s request and they were yummy. Of course I had to add my own little twist. My two secret ingredients being brown sugar and Cola (guess they aren’t a secret anymore lol). These ribs were juicy and not tough and chewy. You can use this method on different cuts of ribs. The recipe is really easy and you can save time by making the glaze and the rub a day or two before. I didn’t categorize it as “quick and easy” because of the amount of time the ribs have to bake however the actual prep time is not long at all. So please , please try this recipe and let me know what you think! And don’t forget to check back later this week to learn how to make fresh green beans and Tropical spiked pink lemonade (both picture below).
Here’s what you need:
1lb of Baby Back Ribs
For the Rub:
- 1/2 tsp ground Mustard
- 1 tsp Garlic powder
- 1 tsp onion powder
- 1 1/2 tsp paprika
- 1/2 tsp of dried rosemary
- 1tsp of Seasoning salt
- 1/2 teaspoon of Black pepper
- 1 1/2 tsp Brown Sugar
- crackled pepper
- Cajun seasoning or cayenne pepper
For the Coca Cola:
- 1/2 cup of Barbecue sauce
- 1/2 cup of Cola
- crackled pepper (eyeball it)
- 2 tbsp of brown sugar
1. Combine the ingredients of the rub in a bowl.
2. Dredge or pat the rub on to the baby back ribs.
3. Place ribs in a baking dish.
4. Crackle black pepper over the ribs and sprinkle some cayenne pepper or Cajun seasoning.
5. Cover and bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour.
6. Combine ingredients of the glaze in a small sauce pan.
7. Heat over medium heat for 10 minutes.
8. Set sauce aside.
9. After 1 hour remove ribs from the oven and drain the meat drippings.
10. Pour the glaze over the ribs.
